We are completely incapable of saving ourselves—neither religious tradition, nor church attendance, nor a moral lifestyle can bridge the gap between us and God.  True salvation is found only in God’s unmerited favor. He has provided the only way for us to be restored through the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
